I'm running over 100' from my air compressor and found a website that recommends running 3/4" black pipe for the long run and then Using a "T" off off it to 1/2" pipe to feed my hose for tools, etc. As I understood it, the 3/4" pipe would effectively increase the size of my tank and provide a heavier line with more pressure there. I was wondering if this was a case where if 3/4" is good, a full 1" would be better?

I guess in reality I don't care if it's better or not so much as I'm concerned that it would work at least as well. The reason I'm concerned about that is that I can get 1/2" pipe and 1" pipe free. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The 1 in pipe will provide less restriction to flow and help to preserve your cfm rating over the long distance. In this case I would definatley say 'bigger is better'. Oh wait, I always say that /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Gary: 3/4 would be ok but 1" would be better! the larger pipe sort of acts as an addition to the tank. don't know the particulars of your installitaion but best to take your T RUNS OFF THE TOP. ALSO PITCH THE PIPE AND THEN PUT A DRIP LEG. this will help if moisture is a problem,

Gary--

've been thinking about plumbing air through the barn, since it seems so simple to do . . . would you post the link to the website you found? Thanks!!
