Running slow down then comes back up

Greetings:

I have 2816 grear.

While running my tractor will slow down and almost quit. Then it catches
back up and continues.

Any idea what causes this and how to fix it?

It sounds like a clogged air filter, or fuel line. Could also be debris in the bottom of the tank.

When does it do this? Under an increasing load or a constant load?
Has this started recently with onset of colder weather?
Does it smoke when it slows down? If so, what color?
When was fuel filter last changed?
Could be water in fuel tank or filter, or summer fuel getting waxy in cold temps.
.....among other things.

Edit: Looking at OP’s profile, he pretty much had the same question 5 months ago, exact same question 2 years ago, and exact same question 3 years ago.

I always suspect fuel filter in these situations and it usually pays off.

I think we can 100% positively say it’s because the load is exceeding the maximum output that the engine can produce with the amount of fuel and air it’s getting.
