Electrical and water must be 12 inches apart. They can be in the same trench as long as there is 12 inches of separation. Diagonal separation is commonly used with one in the bottom corner and the other up a bit along the other edge of the trench.
Not sure about gas but it is probably similar.
You can get away with direct bury wire as long as it is a 20 amp or less circuit and is protected by GFI.
I would be tempted to match what the contractor did when he did the first run. Dig up that end and see how far apart he spaced things and see if it makes sense to continue what he did.
