A Branson 3510 10 years old. First time for this problem. When I can get it running it seems OK but then will quit or 'stumble'/lose power and nearly stop. When I try to restart it I have to bleed the system starting at the Injector pump bleed nut and then at the head bleeding one injector.
History: When I first tried to run it after about 3 months of not using it the Fuel Gauge showed empty and it would not start. I put in 5 gallons and bled the system as I have before just bleeding it at the bleed screws on the fuel filter. (This also concerns me because I know better than to leave an empty tank and normally add a fuel stablizer for the winter months. No evidence of a leak on the barn floor under the tractor.)
It started but after running about 30 minutes it stumbled and then restarted and then stumbled again a few minutes later. (We had a Wood chipper/shredder attached to the PTO but there was no overload condition shredding leaves.
We quit for the day and then next day or so I tried to start it again and had to then go through an extended bleed process using the fuel injecter 'Air Breather Plug" and then bleeding at one of the injector lines on the cylinder head.
Am I doing something wrong that is leading to a ongoing fuel flow issue or do I have a failing part such as the electric fuel pump.
I read another thread with a somewhat similar issue but not exactly the same conditions.
Perhaps its moisture built up over the winter but then why will it run fine after bleeding and then suddenly quit. So far I just replaced the fuel filter figuring that was due anyway.
Open to suggestions, obviously. I don't want to start replacing parts searching for the answer. BUT I suspect the fuel pump needs to be tested and possibly replaced if I have to start somewhere. I also, after reading the other thread am looking at blowing air back into the tanks to make sure they are clear but again if there is something in the tank that would just temporarily relocate it.
