If you haven't already I would do what chriswheeler said and loosen each injector line while it's running. This will pin piont a ceartain cylinder if it's an injector, head gasket, valve or piston/ring problem. You will have a better idea of what to look for and where to start. If it does point to a specific cylinder you can put air pressure in that cylinder (TDC on the compression stroke) listen for air leakage, and look in radiator for bubbles

SydKen, On your post #11 you said you had a lot of white smoke come out the exhaust when you tried to start the engine. This happened just the one time? Richard

Yes just the first time. I hope to get back in the saddle this week and I will pay much more attention the time it takes to start running rough.

Update: Still having the same problem with one change. The last 2 times I have been on the tractor it ran rough right after I started it then smoothed out. One time never running rough again another started after about 40 mins. I talked with a local mechanic and he seems to think I have a water problem. I tend to agree because year before last I bought a new fuel cap with a clear plastic top to show how much fuel is in the tank. Well it is now cracked and has water inside of it. I bought a new solid cap today and will go get some additive to get the water out. We'll see how it goes!

Sounds like you are going to get off easy if that is the case. You might want to consider draining the tank, cleaning it out, and changing the fuel filter before you try it again. If water in the fuel is the problem, you have a much better chance of a fix that way. Good luck,
