Tim -- Next time try the northern reaches of the state. Those down south are too close to major metro centers, but up here most of the bidders are locals. Pete

Sorry to say that we don't find our selves in Vermont since our son relocated. His mom is real happy though because now he is a only 30 minutes away but we do really miss those good old country auctions.

He was in the area around South Royalton and we did head north from there to some wonderful sales. I just had to keep telling myself that I am 400 miles from home. The truck is in the barn and not at the auction.

The best thing about those fiscally conservative north Vermonters is they never through anything away. It goes sold and resold. Or better yet it gets put out in the barn and stored for years until it is sold and then someone like you gets a great deal.

When we go to our camp in VT the first stop is to pick up the news and trading papers. Green Mountain trader always has great stuff in it. Especially used tractors at bargain prices.

This past weekend we got my wife a small sailboat (Sailfish?) at a great price from an ad in North Country News. She don't know squat about sailing but we got the boat cheaper than lessons and she'll have fun learning.

Only had the camps for a year but we have already decided to retire up there.
