:football::football::football::football::football:Just ran a couple of JW's off tonight, they had the nerve to ring my doorbell during the second quarter of the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit lions game. What sort of rude fools would do such a thing around this part of the country? It was pitch dark out and my porch lights were off, they had to stumble up several flights of stairs in the dark to get to my front door! I turned on the porch lights (my front porch is lit by about six small halogen flood lights to aid in winter grilling), while they were still blinking from the sudden illumination I yanked the door open and said "Go Away". Shut the door, turned off the lights, and returned to watching the game.
My wife commented that I was not very kind to them. If they want a kind rejection, come in the daylight and not when the Hawks are playing:thumbdown:

Rural is funny...

I have a short list of people I don't mind stopping by without a call.

For the most part, we move here to have our own little world.

I have never been more frustrated when I'm busy, relaxing or somewhere inbetween and someone not on that list shows up unannounced, and worse they believe they didn't do anything wrong.

No trespassing sign, 30 minutes from town, on a mountain, 2,000 foot long driveway. You'd think that would be enough.

They say fences make good neighbors... 30 minutes from town is my fence.

Good friend was over at lunchtime when JW's stopped by, he kept them busy for an hour or so asking them about vacuums. " your sure you don't have any vacuum cleaners because we could really use one !" Round and round he went, it was comical, they have never been back !
Then I was at an estate when the vacuum cleaner salesman showed up and wouldn't take no for an answer. I put my iron rake in front of their tire and told them to back out the half mile while I called the PD. The cops had them spread eagle over the hood when I went by, they haven't been back either!

What town was that? I need to make sure I don't ever drive through.

We too get our share of JW coming down our 600' driveway off our dead end county road. I just tell them that while I respect their choices, that I will read their literature if they agree to attend a Sunday service at our Christian Church right around the corner.

LOL! The other day someone pulled up. I am looking at this women thinking hmm, she looks familiar? Turns out, she was a friend that I had not seen in maybe 20 years. Her husband than came from the car with a case of Yuengling (which is not for sale in KY). I said, dang, I thought that you were JW. She said, worse, Presbyterians. LOL, turned out that they had a wedding to attend and thought that they would surprise me. They did!

Now that's not a bad surprise.
