Rural phone dilemma

Have you checked other cell providers? When I moved to the country a few years ago, my AT&T cell phone has zero bars too, but Verizon has a decent signal. It's not LTE, but good enough for voice and text. T-Mobile and Sprint do not have a signal either, so its certainly possible that your current carrier has no signal, but another might.

Yep. Out where I am att has a good signal. Sprint/T-Mobile got nothing. Not sure about Verizon.
