You know I went to college, I have a technical career and financially stable, so I am probably smarter the 50 to 60% of the population and despite that I sometime I feel pretty stupid but the thoughts that half the population is dumber them myself give me chills.

Is talking about voting considered “politics”?

As people age, they begin to “realize” all the expenses of life, like retirement savings, homes/real estate, college for their kids, and heavier tax burdens.
This is why older people tend to vote the way they do. Younger people tend to vote more idyllically and more emotionally. They are also more freshly off sitting in HS and college classrooms.

Theres a great old proverb about this, but we cant say it.

i support Russian oil ban, not sure how effective it will be. i also support all the many other sanctions.
the WWII American public made enormous personal sacrifices during that war effort. what concerns me now is that i'm not sure a part of the current population is willing or even able to sustain any kind of a sacrifice for the common good. my hope is that in a crisis like this, most would rise to their better nature for sacrifice such as higher gas prices.

rather than delve into politics on this, i feel the focus should be on the suffering of the Ukrainian people, & what we can do collectively to help in that suffering.

Russian oil provides something like 1% of the US supply. If that was the only factor US prices would barely budge.

But we have a lot of profiteering by the US oil oligarchy (who made $46 billion profit last year) and OPEC is keeping prices high as well.

I agree but also young people are easily influence by their entourage ... but the ability to change your mind is a proof of intelligence..

We are incrementally being drawn into the war. You see us taking baby steps towards it with each passing day.
