Rusty cylinder rod

We have an old trencher that we did the same to the boom lift cylinder. That was 8 years ago, still working.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that since this is such a low use cylinder we can get by like it is if we have to keep using it. Time will tell, but if worse comes to worse, I'll just have to see if someone can repair or build us a new rod down the road. Thanks for all the help guys.
