Having read thru several posts about the 50 hour maintenance, I expected to have to change the oil and hydrostatic/transmission oil. Last night I went thru the manual and schedule and I see that all I am required to change is the transmission oil filter. Won't the transmission oil come flooding out when I take the transmission filter off?

I know that many people say to change the oil at 50 anyway, but I only have 20 hours right now, Work on my farm is about to get crazy and I expect to hit 50 hours in two weeks. I won't have enough down time for at least 3 weeks so if I can just change the filter I would prefer that.

There is a shepherds hook on the back of the tractor that is the vent. Put a small screw in the end of that and change your filters.

I will be looking for that hook this weekend.

Other options: park on a side slope with the filter on the uphill side.

Or stick a shop-vac hose in the fill port. This is what I did. It worked very well. Maybe lost a table spoon of fluid.

At 50 hours I changed just the filter per the owners manual. It did leak some but I just screwed the old one off and hurried with the new one. I did park the tractor on a slope as motownbrowne suggested. Lost about a quart or so.

Was the shepherd's hook easy to spot? Photo?

I bought a transmission oil filter, parked my RX7320PC on a hill (going up) and thought I was ready to do the 50 hour transmission oil filter change BUT I see what looks like two filters side by side. Photo attached.

Are there really two filters? If not what is the other one?

There is not much room under the tractor to get in there and remove the filter(s). Any tips?

Yes there are to filters. And it is going to be a bear getting those first ones off. Everyone says they are astounded at how tight they are. I broke two metal strap filter wrenches. What finally worked was the vice-grip chain wrench. You want to be as close to the base as possible. It still mangled the filter and ruptured and I got oil all over me. Once the filter was off I quickly wiped the magnet with a dry rag to try to remove any metal shavings. Then spun the new filter on. I had to use my foot to push the wrench. It was quite a chore.

Did you park on a hill?

Did you elevate the rear to get enough room to work?
