No updates yet. I sent the oil sample off Monday, so hopefully by tomorrow I will hear something back on that. No major new issues. I did get a CEL that came on, but I assume it had something to do with a regen cycle that didn't get started soon enough. I was in the middle of feeding cows and cleaning out a shelter and adding new straw when the regen light came on. I couldn't stop what I was doing, so I finished and when I did the light had gone off already. I parked it in its spot and pushed the regen button and held it. Nothing. I turned it off, then restarted the engine and got the CEL. I pushed and held the regen button again, and this time it went into regen. Been fine since, but that regen cycle turned a freshly topped off tank into a 3/4 tank! Sure hope that doesn't come up too often. Heck, it only had 30 hours before the first one.

My first regen was at 30 hours also. You'll find as you use the tractor for field work (higher RPM's) it will do passive regen's while you are working. The regen light will blink and do it's thing but it won't bother your work at all. The engine's are the same in both are tractor's you have some program differences and higher fuel pressure to get the extra 7hp. I believe you'll be very happy with it once the block heater issue is resolved.

Glad to hear there have been no additional issues. I'm sure we're all eager/curious to see the results of the oil test.

My first regen came right at 30 hours. I don't think the next one came until 72. As catfever pointed out there's no need to stop what you are doing, you can regen while you work it as long as the RPMs are sufficiently high. I think it's >1700. I think my regens have taken about 10 minutes each. Only issue might be if it comes on just as you're finishing up work. You'd need to leave it running until it completes I believe. Because of the emissions equipment on here I tend to keep the RPMs higher than on my other machines. Basically I try to never be below 1500; whereas on my other machines if I need to step off the machine or don't need the revs I would idle along at 1200.

Honestly, I don't know how long the regen took. The book said it would be 30-40 min, so I started the regen and went inside and had dinner. Maybe it was done in 10, then just waiting on me the rest of the time!

As long as there was no damage caused by the loss of coolant, I think I will be happy with the tractor too. It was perfect timing getting the tractor when I did as this was as cold and snowy of a winter as anyone can remember. Life would have been miserable in the open station John Deere! The power of the tractor impressed me too. The county road was blown shut with 3' drifts for about a mile. I was able to push that mile open a full bucket width in one 3rd gear wide open throttle pass. I was surprised at how it just grunted on through it. If I had picked up a large round bale on the 3 point, Im sure it would have done even better as far as keeping traction.

Read your owner's manual to make sure but I think if the regen light is blinking then it's doing a passive regen. If the regen light comes on and stays on....then you need to stop and push the button. Seems like that's how I remember it but can't recall for sure.

Sometimes if I know I'm doing something like cutting/baling hay all day I'll do a manual regen in the morning before I start, then I know I'm good all day for sure.

Do you run a baler with yours? If so, what kind of baler are you running and how does your tractor handle it? I'd like to be able to borrow my neighbors round baler, but I think it might be a bit of wishful thinking on my part. I do not recall for sure what his baler is, but it builds nice firm 1600+ lb round bales and net wraps them.

I only run a small baler NH316 and it works just fine.
