Here’s drill & saw side by side.
There are some subtle differences between them.

Both my cheap Chinese gas pile driver and one man post hole digger are 25-1 20-1 for initial break in. The pile driver muffler if you can call it that directs the exhaust right into the operators face 😂

Maybe it’s to keep the worker’s face warm on an icy cold day. 😁

Only seen a dock outfit use these…

The guy said safer than extension cord but this was before battery tools became powerful…

At least no risk of shock working in wet conditions.

Probably the best possible solution for work in wet conditions or away from a power source, before reliable and inexpensive Li-Ion batteries took over the world.

They are useful for working in bigger buildings with no electric.
I have equipment in 2 different barns with no power I am doing some work on.

I'd guess they went out of production when they started selling 18V Li-Ion recip saws for $79. That comes with the need to carry enough batteries for your day's work, or to be able to recharge them in your vehicle, but most are probably not running the tool enough hours in a day for that to be a huge problem.

Mabes, but this thing will drill or cut better than most 18V tools I have run.
If they’re running correctly, they feel like they’re on par with my DeWalt 60V Max cordless tools.

I'd bet! But when you're standing in the store facing a $79 Ryobi 18V saw that can be run indoors, versus a $350 2-stroke that's really more limited to outdoor or barn usage, I'd bet very few people were buying the 2-stroke.

Not that I've never run a 2-stroke engine inside our house. :ROFLMAO: I made such a mess tearing 240 year old window frames out of my daughter's room and rebuilding them, that I used my 2-stroke Stihl BG-56 leaf blower to clean the room out after demo. There were no windows, just three big holes in the wall, at that point.

No argument there.

An abandoned Barn is a bit different from a house. :ROFLMAO: Wee bit more space for the exhaust fumes. :p
I have a full set of DeWalt 60V tools that work great. I just like these as a supplement and I’m kind of into the small engine powered carpenters tools.
I am also looking for some of the Hilti brand gas powered tools.
