Before I get too creative with the duct tape, does anyone know of anywhere to get used parts for these tractors?

My hood has broken, and the dealer quoted me $768 for a new one. Needless to say, I'm going to cobble it back together and then just have to manually pull the whole thing off anytime I need to get under it (the are supported by the gas strut will never bear any load again). Unless I could find a reasonably priced one to pull off a parts machine or something of that nature.

Just what broke????

The hydraulic lifts for a truck hood should work??

How old is it? Dealer/Yanmar should replace free if still under warranty. Also would contact Yanmar directly if out of bumper to bumper warranty as they might replace free anyway since it's a common issue

No, the entire plastic shell broke unfortunately.

I bought it new almost exactly 2 years ago. I didn't know this was a common issue, but certainly makes sense given the flimsy design.

I would try using bondo or fiberglass to repair it
they have fiberglass kits with the glass matt
to make an easy repair

My hood just **** the bed. 950 hours was all it could handle. I have a crack around the gas cap hole which is new but I’ve struggled with the screw nubs from the beginning. I will layer fiberglass & jb weld so i can get another 950 hours. 🤞

My dealer is going to replace it under warranty. It is definitely a poor design, the support screws are far too close together to support the weight of the whole hood. I only had 335 hours on it when it broke.

Wonder full news saves you a lot of hassle trying
to fix it your self
Somebody could have gotten the wrong hood to put
on your tractor
