As Maka knows. I faced the same decision and had no choice but the terminate with Montana. The territory that I am in needs some serious development, and it hasn't happened. Most would think that having no same brand competition near by would be a great thing, but a potential customer looking at a brand new tractor, wants to know what service alternatives they have, and the four closest dealers to me had all thrown in the towel!
Every territory is different but all I hear these days is, "Do you have anything used?" It seems folks these days are shopping for bottom line only, and then they regret what they bought later....
I still do parts and service, but the interest due on tractors just sitting here was literally killing me and I had to get out.
Some of the big brands are producing some real low spec stuff these days to offer a low bottom line, and a lot of potential customers just don't have to mechanical knowledge to see that what I was offering was a better value!
