Sad state of affairs; seeking another forum

9 days after joining was his last activity 3 months ago, and total of 7 posts, some of which were to explain his user name, which probably should have been his first post, and one was to whine which never should have been posted.

Gosh, I miss him.

Speaking of explaining a user name, G... why would any one want to P in the mitten? Wouldn't that ruin a good set of gloves?

These are the tire "skins" from semi truck retreads that come apart - usually while going down the road.

Gators are just as likely to be from a virgin tire as a retread.

Not quite as likely, but virgin tires do go also...just the chances of a retread going are proportionally much higher. I have littered the roadway many times with a recap, but can count on one hand the number of virgin tires I have lost. One was a steer tire on my first "long" haul for this company I currently work for. I got it stopped in the last few feet of shoulder as the road went to one lane for construction. (Sure glad I was already slowing down!!) Boss told me, "I guess you won't want to run that trip again". However, I did for the next couple of years, till they pulled me to do what i am currently doing.
One reason for the larger number of recaps going might be that I have 16 recaps on the rig, and only two virgin tires, after the first couple of hundred thousand miles.
The amount of miles on a tire carcass thoughout it's life is amazing...
