That should be easy.. grab a 3/8 and 1/2 pipe plug and check the ports to see if they are npt. It they are, the plugs will snug up at least by half way in.
Now.. if they are not taper thread.. if they are ORB, then you will see a slight undercut / countersink right at the bore where the first female thread would be.. not to mention that it would be a straight cut thread.. for instance. 3/8 orb will fit a 9/16 bolt thread..
JIC fittings seal on a tapered flange, and that will be easy to determine by looking at the fittings.
( swivel and most 90' NPT fittings will also use a flange seal )
If you see soemthing that looks pipe.. but is in the 5/8 size range.. it will probably be #10 orb.. I have some jap cylinders like that.
