I sell trailers for a hobby job and have access to tons of info. If you can give me the year, make, model, and axle ratio along with other info like extended cab long bed I can tell you what the max tow rating is.

As for the hitch a Class 2 can only carry 3,500#. I seriously doubt that is what he has on a truck. Probably a class 3 which is 5,000-6,000# typically. Class 4 is usually good for about 7,500# and Class 5 is good for 10,000-15,000# depending on the individual hitch.

Thanks Diamondpilot for for offer, but the numbers are just not adding up.
I rather be safe than sorry. I look at roads as killing fields for the new and older drivers, than add in unsafe acts its more than my conscience can bare.
I need to sleep at night also.
Thanks Michael

That looks like something I'd find on Top Gear. My favorites were when they played "wacky-clackers" with two caravans as the Brits call travel trailers hanging from a couple of cranes, and the other was when they used an air cannon/sled to launch junk compact cars off a quarry cliff at a caravan in the middle of the pit floor. Think of it as mega lawn darts.
