Safety override?

On my TC33D if I apply the parking brake and place the range selector in one of the neutral positions I can get off the tractor without it shutting off.

I guess I should have specified my tractor has a Hydrostatic transmission. It has a range lever for I, II, III speeds with neutral being between I & II and II & III. Forward and reverse is controlled by a large curved/arched foot pedal and its position doesn't matter since you have to be in neutral to get off the tractor to keep it running or to start it.

On my tc33d, I have always been able to get on and off with the PTO engaged without doing anything and it stays running. On my MC 35 (front deck commercial mower with HST), I got so sick of it cutting off every time I got off to pick up some trash that I cut the wire to that switch and then tied the two ends of the cut wire together and bypassed that stupid switch. Maybe I am a renegade.....but I sure am glad I did it!! Good luck on whatever route you take.
