It usually pops out of the ground pretty easily, the hardest part is how brittle the stock is, it likes to break. Good thing is it usually doesn't come back after fire or being broken completely off.

Sounds like sagebrush is a lot easier to eradicate than scotchbroom. Wish they had left it wherever it was originally found, along with Himalayan blackberries and a couple of other invasive species.

Get a hay supplier to cut and bale it. Done with it. Use if for erosion control.
