Well, ya, but so is driving 5 mph over the speed limit.Personally, I wouldn't think twice about buying out of state to save on sales tax, and I wouldn't worry about it, but that's just me and of course everyone can make their own decision.
MA is pretty aggressive about enforcing sales tax. I don't know how it works with tractors, but many items if they are delivered to you 'in state' you get taxed on them (the store has to collect it), even if you are buying in NH. If you pick it up you are on your own to pay taxes. Pretty crazy! I'm just happy we don't have a tractor excise tax yet!
