salt spreading

There have been some comments in the press about liquid road salt applied before storms working better and using less salt. I am interested in this for a couple of reasons. I use a snowblower on the back and a plow on the front. no room for a spreader. I have a 25 gal sprayer with a 12 volt pump on it. I use that for broad leaf weed control and other plant stuff. I have a QA on the front. The Sprayer is currently on a skid I use with forks on the front. I could either swap out the plow for the skid pretty quick or mont the spray tank on the plow or blower.
SO the question is Has any one ever tried a salt water mix ahead of a snow fall or something similar. What would be the mix ration # of salt to Gal of water. I have one pice of data that says highway application of salt is 250# per lane mile per application. Could work backwards from that. Would also be helpful to know if a saturated solution would work or something less. What is the number for a saturated solution for salt. That is the max amount that can be dissolved?

They use a liquid in PA, mainly around harrisburg - so the all important politicians can get in and out quickly after they spend other peoples money. Most of rural PA get rock salt and anti skid. I normally have several FEL loads of it in my front yard come springtime.

I am unsure of the name of the liquid they use, but it isn't salt water. I did a quickie oogle search and found this Spray-On Snow Removal - Popular Mechanics
