While it may be expensive, fertilizer is the way to eradicate them. They can't take the Nitrogen. It really won't take that long. You don't have to use a balanced fertilizer, just a high concentration of N. (ammonium sulphate, urea, etc) Even better, if you have access to chicken fertilize, that'll do it and it's cheaper.

How much nitrogen? Could you overseed clover to increase nitrogen and then just kill off the clover with 2-4D? Or does it take a heavier dose?

We have been putting down 200+ lbs of Urea every year based on soil sample results. Urea is 46-0-0 that's around 100lbs of Nitrogen per acre at a cost of $525 per ton. Fertilizer has helped a little and will continue to help in he future but I'm looking for some quicker results. I will continue with the fertilizer but hoping to find an secondary solution to go along with the fertilizer. I like the Noble foundations testing of Roundup WeatherMax but can't find it anywhere.

Do you not have a dealer anywhere near you that sells Monsato products? Any Monsato dealer should be able to order it for you.
