I do not eat POOP ! at least with Shirmp ( from the Ga. coast bought off the boat ) you can clean the vein out...not so with Sardines...Eat up boys...LOL
We feed our dog sardines for a treat... :drool: Might have to manup and try them... that is if he lets me![]()

I only eat the ones packed in water, much healthier. And the best thing is, they are better preserved, so you can disect them and see what they had been eating. Pretty cool finding a fish inside a fish! Then you get to eat fish poop inside a fish that is inside another fish with even more fish poop! :laughing:

OK - I'll fess up...I have had fun with you fellas but here is the truth..I love Sardines but my Mrs. will not let me open a can in the house..they do smell, but here is the good news..I go to Wal Mart and they have - Crown Prince - Kipper Snacks ( naturally smoked ) and they taste just like smoked fish or even smoked oysters..they are really good. 190 calories Total fat 13 g and that is the omega 3 kind..good for you ..No Carbs, and Sodium is 390 mg - they come from Canada and are wild caught..Yum as Bird says...:laughing::licking::thumbsup:

Many, many years ago when I carried my lunch, working nights, I alternated between a wide mouth vacuum bottle of soup, sardines, or kippers. I liked them all, but thought the kippers were a little firmer texture that I liked. And then I read somewhere that kippers and scrambled eggs were a popular British breakfast, so I had to try that. And as far as I'm concerned that ruined both the kippers and the eggs.But the last time I bought any kippers, they weren't bad, but I didn't like them as wel as the sardines.
