That looks like the same type of stuff wieners are made from. Most people that work in meat processing don't eat wieners!

Billy Hob; with the sudden sardine craving being satisfied how does one get sardine oil out of the key board and off of the keys!:licking::(

I am a big fan of the canned fish aisle in the stores. I especially like the smoked oysters. In the refrig sections of the stores, the bottles of herring are amazing too.

I could live off that crap. Genetically speaking I am immune to the problems associated with "too much".

I still have a can of sardines that I bought in the middle east about 15 years ago... Probably not any good now but the can and wrapper look good.

smoked oysters.

Add Pickled eggs with garlic, some good Beer that comes in Bottles and is brewed to the 1565 standards, a nice campfire and it would be near to Valhalla  right next Hen Lake!

I don't think that I ever ate a can of sardines less than 5 years old. I buy them and then they sit in my pantry for years until one day when I am hungry and can find nothing else to eat and look at them and say "why not?".

Some of the ones I have in there now still have price tags on them. I don't know how many years ago they stopped putting price tags on items in our stores.

Some of you sardine eaters might be interested in this story about the Last US sardine cans being packed in Maine. This is the first I've heard of it and their Beach Cliff brand is what I bought this past week at Walmart for $.92 a can. It's sad to see another industry collapse in the USA.

I watched a TV show about that cannery a few weeks ago. I think they said they are not even sardines, but small herring, labeled as sardines. The herring fishery collapsed, as did the cod fishery, from overfishing. Too much of a good thing. :(
