Here are some pictures of Saskatoon from January 19th 2011, no clouds, a full moon, temperature -33C (-27F) windchill -43C (-45F). (I didn't take these pics, they were sent to me by a friend.)

Nice pics. Every fall my father, two friends and I head to Saskatchewan for some duck hunting. We are there late October so it's not that nasty yet. We fly into Regina and drive to straussburg. What beautiful country. Made some good friends as well. They've come down to the states to fish in the summer as well. Thanks for posting

I'm don't know where the pics were taken from, other than from across the South Saskatchewan river. The "south" bank is quite a bit higher than the "north" bank. Right there, the river runs from the SW to the NE.

Yes, it's the Delta Bessborough. From wiki: "The Delta Bessborough hotel is a three star (Forbes Travel Rating), ten-story hotel located in downtown Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The hotel is a historical landmark in Saskatoon and is known for its castle-like appearance. The hotel was built by the Canadian National Railway from 1928 to 1932 and is designed in the same Chateau-style as many of Canada's other railway hotels. Although it is still referred to as "The Bessborough Hotel" today, many people have adopted an abbreviated form, known as "The Bess" (pronounced 'Bez')."

Great pics. I have visited Saskatoon several times now, mostly in October and November to hunt deer, never quite that cold then, and I am glad. Don't think I could sit in the treestand at those temps. I have to say that Saskatoon is a great city and the people there are great.
