I built a raised strawberry bed out of a fiberglass 6 footer. It had the post and concrete already attached so I dug a hole and planted it! Stood about 4 1/2 ft. off the ground, just right for picking berries. I cut metal coffee cans in half, after removing the top & bottoms, then stomped on 'em to get 'em flat and screwed them to the edge of the dish to give the bed some depth. I left the receiver brackets in place, a natural tripod, put a used wire reel round on it and hung bird screen netting over it. Soon as I figure out how to post pictures on this outfit, you'll see it in all it's glory. Havin' fun in the back yard!

I passed a home where they had stacked two of these (the top one upside down) added legs under the bottom and had plywood cut out "space aliens" standing nearby. Totally useless, but pretty funny!

I have an old screened dish that I use for shading the goldfish pond. It's mounted upside down. You can also use them as picnic table/area shade. As you might have guessed, shade is at a premium down here.

I'm thinking that it might be best to haul it off to the dump or let somone on Craigslist have it for the taking. I've seen them used for fountains but they are still eyesores in my opinion.

Seems that there are a group of people trying to make contact with intelligent life on other planets. So far, no luck.

I've had days where I couldn't find intelligent life down here.
I do like the Sterling engine idea. Line the dish with old software CDs and you will have a powerful solar concentrator.
Minnow net's not bad but minnows around here hug the bottom so the net would have to lay flat. Now, smelt fishing would work if you could get a tractor and boom pole close enough to lift it.
