I got a great price and have loved my Midwest attachments. The equipment:

72" aerator, 84"rake with guage wheels, 72" 6way blade, 60" rotary cutter with slip clutch.

Purchased from Dave Jernigan of RPM Sales in Ft. Madison, IA. Dave is over 250 miles away and delivered the equipment to my Land at no additional cost. Prices were as good as anywhere and in JD green.

Summary: this is really good equipment at a fair price. Jim Mc, the designer answered questions on the phone and even sent a "care package" with top link pins, since they were missing. TERRIFIC SERVICE all the way around.

Some of you may recall that I'm willing to complain, if the service is bad -- also willing to share positive experiences.

Yesterday I used the rotary cutter for the first time (all implements easily hook up to the JD I-match quick hitch). The cutter went through 5-6' tall brush easily. Man, it feels good to give that 4310 a workout. Thanks to JMIII and others for tips on brush cutting - kept the loader low, moved forward and had a GREAT day!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Midwest equipment. Now, if Jim will develop the valve that will keep my tilt cylinder from leaking down; maybe next year. BTW, strongly recommend at least the top cylinder, but top and tilt really lets me adjust implement position on the fly. So, much to learn, so little time, but this is FUN!

Bill, Thanks for the comments. I just ordered a Midwest boxblade without ever having seen one. I took the recommendations here and went blindly forward. I should be tearing up the yard by this time next week.

I really wasn't too excited about going out of the area, but we New Englanders often face limited selection and higher prices when it comes to equipment / attachments.

The King Kutter and Landpride lines dominate my area with a bit of Woods here and there. I wasn't thrilled with the quality of the KK stuff and I wasn't at all willing to pay 50% more for LP that was effectively equal to the Midwest.

We'll see how things go, but if the previous posts are any indicator....We'll be happy.

I used the same logic and made the same comparisons. The rotary cutter actually cost less than the KK and appears to be better quality. Land Pride was too pricey for any noticeable differences. I did see a Midwest boxblade on the delivery truck and was quite impressed -- wish I had known of the company before I purchased mine over a year ago.

I see in your bio that you are a HVAC consultant. Opinions on geothermal, especially companies?

I faced the same choices a couple of weeks ago. Local dealer wanted approx $625 for a 5' box blade (Land Pride I think) and Kioti dealer wanted even more for their branded Midwest. I called Carter & Carter and they shipped one to my New Hampshire business for $140 + $325 cost of box blade for $465 total. Ordered on a tuesday morning and it arrived thursday afternoon. Really, a no brainer.

How is the Brush Cutters?

I'm in the market and don't think the KK stuff is near as good as what I want. I can't afford the woods stuff though. there are some "international' units locally 100 mile away for me but they are little beefier than KK and cheaper cost too. any one up in northern Ohio selling this stuff so I can take a look>?

Re: Satisfaction and success with Midwest attachme

How about near Cincinatti? Wayne from LMTC sells Midwest. Here's a link to LMTC . I have the 5' 30 series cutter with a slip clutch and it has done wonders for my jungle...er....I mean land.

Ditto. The Midwest rotary cutter has done a great job for me, so far. The fact that I can hook up all of the implements to my quick hitch is a real plus for convenience, too.

I didn't know That LMTC stocked Midwest cutters, but I see them on his website.
