So I never got my shop built last summer as work was busy. The snow should start thawing soon, and i wouldn't mind having this beaver going again, to help spread gravel etc.

Is it possible to cut into the housing between the clutch and the trans, to make an inspection cover. I though I could then drill some holes around and weld a flange on the piece I cut out, so that it would go back together.

Just thinking it would be easier to fix, not sure how i can fix stripped splines, possibly some sort of clamp (or weld it:laughing:). Not sure how I would get it done with the tractor spit, I guess I should have to split it on both sides?

Anyone have a picture of this splined coupling?

Not much point in making an inspection hole. To fix it correctly you'll have to split it. Parts book shows the breakdown.
