Hello-

I bought a Satoh Beaver on epay last week. It is a S370 Two wheel drive and it came with a 4' mott mower. I loaded the thing up in the dark, it ran good and looks like it has real low hours on it. What are the capabillities of this thing? I have a 5' kubota finish mower and a 5' grader box, are these too big for it? I dont get home from work until late so i cant mess with it until this weekend. I am guessing it is category 1 3pt hitch? Anyone have a good link for parts for it? I need a gas cap and i plan on putting on new filters (I guess i will try the Wix 51334 IIRC oil filter recommended in a previous thread). I didnt get a chance to look but is it possible to plumb a remote cylinder on it with a valve for a snow plow or something like that? Its a neat little tractor, except its probably as noisy as my 2cyl john deere's. I bought it to mow between nursery trees. I only paid 1,070 for it, was that too much? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks good.

They are very well made.
You will most likely find that the 3pt is Cat0. You can upgrade to Cat1 with differnt toplink and lift arms. Mine has plenty of lift capacity for most small Cat1 implements.

Search threads by Bill Rogers and Lens for parts contacts.

Good luck

5' finish mower...possibly
5' box blade...ain't gonna happen, you have 2wd and not enough weight, you will just spin.

Instead of plumbing into the tractor you can use a pto pump for a snow plow.

The first thing you may want to invest in is a suspension seat like from TSC or wherever, you behind will thank you for it.

Before buying a finish mower check the pto rotation. The S370 comes with counterclockwise rotation unless a reverser has been added.

Thanks for the help. The pto rotates clockwise. Stupid question but could i get a gas cap for this from you? Also for future reference can i get parts for this thing? I got fuel/oil/air filters from napa. I messed around with it this weekend and cleaned it up so it looks like new. Unfortunately it does not handle the mott mower too well, its too heavy and uses too much power. I will have to use the flail mower at the house and find a brush hog for mowing trees. Also, does anyone know a good source for cat.0 implements, i really would like to find a 3pt frame for a platform. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can supply you with parts. You can buy cat 1 & change the pins. Many of the S370s are cat 1

You will have to add ballast to the ft. end for just about anything you want to run off the rear, I have 354lbs and it handles my 400lb tiller with ease.
My 42" bushog took a little over 100lbs to keep the ft tires on the ground.

Thanks for the help. Your right about the ballast, just curious what do you use? For Cat1 do I have to get new lift arms, or my father was tempted to weld on a cat1 ball at the end of the cat 0 lift arm. Another stupid question, what type of grass are flail mowers for? It seems like it doesnt have enough power for the 4ft mower, would i be better off with a finish mower, or would i be in the same situation. Thanks for the help.

Where did you get those lift arms? Need a set form my beaver -- was chewing the tires up!
