Satoh s650g no spark

I have an older Satoh tractor with an oil bath air cleaner, not sure what year. I have had a problem recently where the tractor will not idle without stalling and seems to miss. I have to raise the rpm's to keep it running. I recently purchased the points, condensor, cap, and rotor from Napa that are recommended on this site. Last night I went out to the barn and installed the new tune up parts. Now it wont start at all. I set the point gap at the recommended 18. Im sure I must be missing something really simple here. I did have to move distributor to get the screw out that holds the condensor but carefully marked it and put it back to where it was before. I did notice that the thin flexible braided ground wire inside the distributor looks pretty flimsy and old but it ran like that before. What am I missing guys??? Could you give me a list of items to check so that I know where to start to determine what i messed up???

Disregard folks, I figured it out. When I tightened up the wire on the new points the wiring connector had accidentally rotated and grounded against the distributor. All is well and runs great!!
