Sorry to hear you're still having trouble.

I would keep hammering with the impact wrench for awhile longer. Try short bursts to maximize the effect (especially if you are using a small compressor and a long length of hose). If you use a cheater pipe and wrench you run the risk of twisting something or rounding off the head.

If it was my tractor, I would consider cleaning it in place. Use diesel fuel to scrub the whole reservoir and screen. Once it's all squeaky clean, fill it with hydraulic oil and see if your lift is working properly. Since the screen has holes in it, there should be no flow restriction. If the lift still is not working right, then you have problems elsewhere. My first thought then would be, "where did those pieces of the screen go?". If they passed thru the pump, they may have damaged it. They could have ended up in the valve body causing anything from scoring to stuck relief valves.

In an earlier post you mentioned that the lift went higher than ever before. How high did they go? Measure from the ground to the bottom of the lower lift arms and report back. Even though they would lift, did they have any power (ie..could you stand on the drawbar and it would still pick you up?)

I'm trying to narrow some things down to see if the problem is:
1) Low Volumetric efficiency in the pump
2)Low system pressure
3)Flow obstructions
4)Mechanical failures (lift cylinder, valve body, relief valves, etc)

If you use the wrench, get a hammer and smack it on the head while putting pressure on it.

Cant do ANYTHING with this anymore due to I now have it COMPLETELY disassembled all the way down to an empty resivor box and awaiting bunches of new parts from Bill at Valley Power. BUT,,,,I am having TWO new problems while waiting all new parts. One is,,Bill says he DOESNT have a filter for this tractor since MINE measures ONE inch in diameter and FIVE & 3/4 inches in length. and TWO,,,my OUTSIDE collars that bolt onto the outside of the box with 3 bolts which the shaft passes through are WORN a LOT,,,Tried taking them to my local machinist to have bushings made for it and OMG,,,,they want 300.00 per side to make a bushing and Bill from Valley power wants 150.00 a piece for new ones. ALREADY spent a FORTUNE through Valley Power on ALL the other parts we ordered and we are strapped for now. Any suggestions on how to make collars or bushings besides a machinist and 300.00 per side????? And ANYONE have a filter for this tractor in good condition and HOW much for one my size,,,One inch in diameter and 5 & 3/4 inches long and a NUT to REPLACE the one I finally got out but is now messed up?????? thanks you guys,,,,You are the best

You might talk to the shop instructor at a local high school or Vocational college and see if they need a project for a student. They might only want materials paid for.

As far as the filter - what was the old one made of? Is it a cylindrical frame with a fine mesh screen soldered over it? Can you figure out what mesh size it is?

Does the wear on the collars affect anything. Will it make it leak or anything? If not, I wouldn't worry about it. 3pt hitches tend to be pretty sloppy anyways.
On the other hand, if it's going to cause you problems....then post the exact dimensions of the collars (try to use calipers for the measuremnts). I'll see if I can think of a workable replacement.

As for that pesky filter.....just leave it off. I've logged 450 trouble free hours since removing mine. I just replace the fluid once a year (it only holds a gallon and it's cheap insurance).

Yes it is B/8
The cylinder is in EXCELLENT shape and yes,,,,its the wire mesh that has three holes about the size of a number two pencil in it,,,,If I knew what size and type of wire mesh,,,I can REMOVE the OLD wire and Re-Attach NEW wire to it and fix it. As soon as Bill ships ALL my parts,,,Im EXCITED about putting it ALL back together and seeing it run again WITHOUT any leaks whatsoever on the Resivore Box.,,,Then if it STILL WONT lift ALL the way,,,,theres ONLY ONE thing left,,,,,The PUMP ITSELF,,,,GOD Im hoping its NOT the pump after replacing ALL these parts,,,Awaiting your reply my friend & STILL awaiting parts from Bill
