This is a still frame of video that was shot by an amateur storm chaser. The photo came off of a news site. If you have a good connection and Real Player you can view a streaming video of the segment with more photos. It was an impressive looking tornado. I am real interested what the NWS guy says about how strong it was.

Here is the link to the local news site. The video is only good for ten days. I sure wish I knew how to save it to my harddrive.

The pic of the tornado shows the twister in a lighter form. When I first seen it, the clouds were lighter and the twister was black. As it moved on it got lighter and harder to make out.

About a year ago I was on IH 35 in Buda Texas on my way to the bank in Kyle. The traffic came to a stop for no apparant reason under a bridge. It was stormy with wind and lightning the wind was continuously increasing in power and began coming horizontally at the truck. I was really getting bounced around just sitting still. Then debris began raining down. I could see pieces of corragated tin roofing flying around. One piece landed next to the truck. I finally turned the radio on to hear that there was a tornado between Buda and Kyle nearing the freeway. I had news for them. It was ON the freeway. There was a Conoco station with a big electronic billboard on a hill on the northbound side. I saw it explode with a huge shower of sparks. I remember it looked just like the explosions in the movies. As quickly as it arrived, it was gone. The tornado had gone back up into the cloud and came back down later near the airport where they got to watch it on the ground from the tower. When traffic started moving again I was amazed to see two tractor trailers on their sides and a bobtail blown over. This was all within 200 feet of where I was stopped. This tornado was rated at an F-0 the weakest one. There were dozens of medium size trees snapped off half way up and most of the signs on both sides of the freeway were down. My usual 25 minute commute home (to heck with the bank!) took 4 hours that night due to the storms and flooding.
