Bird what is crispiest? I am new to the net, and the computer, my first web site is tractor. com. really finding it fascinating . I see all over the site wish I could talk to everyone in person ,(typing sucks) .

Don't you mean craigslist? It is a web site with what is often "local" ads of all sorts.

You might find someone here in your neighborhood. There is a place on here by region.

Not in this country, but quite popular amongst the Brits. Could be coming from that side of the pond.

Besides the to good to be true price, it's the language that sends up the red flag, I can spot them imediatly as soon as you get past the legitimate description of the tractor, that they obviously just copied verbatum from an ad. They seem to think it necessary to ad content in language which is right out of those "I am royal prince from country of trinadingo, may I store my great wealth in your bank account" scams.

They'd do a much better job of scamming people if they would just hire competent proof readers.

That same scam is in my local Craigslist today. It even has four pictures of it with a loader and a backhoe!!!!

I don't know if it's for real or not, but there are some websites where a person carries on and on with some of these scammers. Mostly people from Nigeria, but other areas as well. It's a fun read, but just a little to perfect for me to be convinced that it's not really just some creative writing. Either way, I enjoyed reading a few of them and how he supposedly turn the tables on them.

Much more 'cost effective' to give traffic violations

For 'safety reasons', hand held cell phones are unlawful in cars here.
However kids with cells and or walkmans are OK to jaywalk. (can't fine a minor)

While watching a piece on the Caley/Casey Anthony case in Orlando they mentioned how George Anthony fell prey to the Nigerian scammers. Seems he was in a bit of a financial jam a few years back and happened to get the e-mail from the "Prince" requesting money. Kind of struck me funny as he used to be a cop somewhere in Ohio, didn't think anyone was quite so naive. He certainly has bigger problems these days. Too bad, he seems like a good fella.

I didn't know that about Mr. Anthony. I knew he had been a cop, but after seeing him defend his daughter and how physically angry he gets at those who are accusing her of killing her daughter, I can see where he could believe just about anything. If he wants it to be true, like a scam, then he will believe it to be true.

I have been on the recieving end of an email scam since 2/24/09 dealing with some hay for sale on a web-site. He left a phone #, which was disconnected, used a name that could be Googled all over the US, and left info to do with the check "when it arrives" including sending part of the $ to his trucker when they arrive. I use a PO Box which is where he said he would UPS a check to (UPS doesn't deliver to PO Boxes), then he said he would Fed Ex it (Fed Ex doesn't deliver to P O Boxes), now he is getting frustrated thinking I will sell this hay. I have contacted my local police, they said their hands are tied, talked to my bank- waiting for the conterfeit check- they recommended contacting the FTC with the emails that we have traded back and forth. That is my plan hoping they become aware of some of these scams and can intervein in the future. The scammer slipped and left a foreign name 1x, not the name he has been using. He also uses 2 different emails to contact me.

I have rambled on so everyone becomes aware of what is becoming a sad reality in todays world.
