I noticed recently amazon has been charging me a higher tax rate when I ship stuff to my property (lower tax rate). They are charging me the nearby small town sales tax rate but mine in the country is lower. Maybe 2 weeks ago I went through the online circus of telling them about this problem. Eventually they implied they would refund the tax on my last purchase to the correct amount. I just tried it again to see if they have truly changed it but nope still the wrong tax rate in the cart.
A search last week tells me others have also had this problem. They've over taxed me on the last two years but before that I was having very little sent to the property where I'm building my cabin. The tax difference between small nearby town and my property is around 2.5% So, you might see where I have a little bit of hatred for that company.
The bigger town I live in for now has a higher rate in one part of town in another county but they can get that right.
<off soapbox>
