Really! Can you imagine getting a Deere or Kubota for those prices? Of course, even if the Kubota deals are legit, one would not be allowed to import them into the US. So if one doesn't know that, and sends the money, there would be no recourse. I notice there are no bids. Could people actually be wary and cautious for a change? John

Your link provided 1036 items, which auctions are you specifically talking about?

Realize that many of these are AUCTIONS and the current bid price is not what the final price will be.

There are others.

I'm amazed that people actually bid on the so called private auctions. It's easy enough to get taken by someone using a shill on eBay without alerting the seller to your intent to bid and hiding the bidders list.

They didn't stay up long this time. There were about half a dozen "bargains" of brand new 2004 tractors with "Buy-it-now " prices of $3500.00 with free shipping and you had to be pre-approved. E-bay must of got wind of it pretty quick this time. They were John deeres and New Hollands too. Seems i always miss out on the bargains.

Each of the items in question, Deere, Kubota, NH (usually pretty new) were all one day auctions and all were in the $2500- $3500 range. Each auction that I checked appeared to be offered by persons with good Ebay ratings, but all were different persons. I e-mailed to one about their ridiculously low buy it now offer, but received no reply. John

They've likely had their user id's and passwords harvested. I frequently receive emails purporting to be from eBay requesting that I access my account for some trumped up reason. Invariably, a hypertext link will be provided which is labeled to look like a link to eBay but actually points to either an unknown IP address or ebay.<other server>.com. If one would click on the link and log in, I suspect that the rougue web site would capture the user id and password and retain them in a database while forwarding the user to ebay.

Did you email direct or go through the eBay contact seller dialog?

I sniffed around one of these last week, a Kubota for $2900. The seller was in Portugal and said they would pay shipping. She wanted me to send the money via Western Union for pick up by someone I designate (spouse, friend, etc) and once she saw the $ was in the wire to account she would ship the tractor. Once I rec'd it I would change the payee of the wire transfer to her and she would collect the $. I asked her for a phone number several times and she was not listed in Lisbon at the address she gave in the international phone directory.

I checked with eBay and here acct was suspended one day after the item was listed.
