I went through Ebay's ask seller a question link. Here is a reply that I received today from the seller:
Hello there,

Thank you for been interested in my tractors.I have in my possesion the clean title of them and all the papers that you will need to register them in your country.I have to let you know that I am in Greece and the machines are here in a perfect cosmetic and engine conditions,no leaks of any kind and they are ready for work now .
The shipping will be done via ocean freight on my charge, with the best shipping service in Athens,Greece. You'll get the item in 14-18 days at your address.
The price I hope to optain with shipping/handling included is:

2003 KUBOTA B7500 4X4 - LOADER - HYDRO ------US $2,500.00

I wonder how many people may send this guy money and not even realize that IF they were really buying that they could not import the Kubotas into this country anyway? Sure would be nice to get these tractors for these prices, but it's so obvious that I can't believe anyone would fall for it. John

I ran into a similar situation with a horse trailer. I cant believe I put that much time and effort into investigating it when I knew, at some level, it was all just a scam. Now I seem to see those types of offers frequently on EBAY and I go right past them. The sad thing is that if that sort of scam did not ever work they would probably not submit them. I feel sorry for those that lose thier hard earned money.

Yes, it is interesting how the seller states he/she got her account hacked and just got it back. This seems to be how these people can convince that they are legit, with someone else's good feedback. I think I'll kill my Ebay account! John

That's an instance where I would ask prior customers for her *old* email address and contact her to verify what the heck is going on - as I described in a previous post to this thread.

I just read through that entire thing on the link. It was GREAT! I love the idea that the scammer had to pay $550.00 in import taxes with real money to get the fake item he paid for with fake money at a fake escrow site. Perfect! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I can't help but wonder if there was any involvement/culpability on the part of the professor in Terre Haute or if he had his info stolen as well.
