How about roofing a green house? I did one that needed a bunch of glass panes replaced. Owner had built this - 1 by 6 as a runner up and down and cross 1 by 6's under the runner that were wider than the distance between windows. It spread the weight out so it could hold my weight and the cross pieces would catch on the frames and give footing. Used 2 of them so I could move around. Still very scary the first couple times I used it.
