That tug and barge out there is piloted by my neighbor. It is a Navy sonar barge doing sea trials for the nuke sub that under there somewhere!

I've seen a couple of them mixed in with the flocks up here recently, presumably from somebody's backyard flock. They're about 30 miles apart as the turkey flies, so I doubt the two are related.

We've had a large group of turkeys coming around the bird feeder in our back yard recently. The hens are down to business, trying to dig up some food. The toms parade around in slow motion in full feather display, as if they are impressing someone, but the hens don't seem to notice. It seems like a metaphor for life.
