Hello All,

This is a notice to let you know that tomorrow we will be having a scheduled downtime for a server upgrade. We hope to have it back up and running within a few hours after it's taken down.

The scheduled downtime will begin between noon and 4pm EST.

This is a good time as any as many people are going to be enjoying New Years Eve celebrations and relaxations. So have a safe and fun time and be sure to come back once we're back up.

Well I do not usually start celebrating until around 8:00pm. Looks like I will have time to take a nap so I can make it to the New Year. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

We're back up in 2005!

Well, that was longer than I wanted to take, but we had to do some things twice (more than twice, even) and the delays happened.

The Search won't work yet, I'll get that running tomorrow. There may be other bugs. If you notice any, please post a comment here and I'll put them on the list.

Hope you all have a safe and fun New Years!

Bug….

When viewing a thread in a forum, scroll down to the bottom and click on “index”, it does not take you back to the forum index. At least it does not show any threads.

When you click "show all" it takes you to page 1.
Clicking the last page takes you to page 1.
Clicking into a previously viewed discusion does not take you to the last viewed post, again back to page 1.

Thanks
Bill

Oops, let me clarify, when you click "show all" it only shows you page 1 of a multi page discussion.

Thanks

That's the one I've noticed.

Isn't "scheduled Downtime" a loose term for retirement??? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I MISSED THIS THREAD,I was right in the middle of posting a long thread reply when i had no place to send it.So glad we are back, called friends to get them to bring up tbn thought it was my computer.I have become a creature of habit,on here, tried a couple other sites,NOTHING LIKE TBN!

Guess I should have read this thread before posting to the related topics thread, but hitting index after reading a post takes one to a related links page rather than back to the fourm. Then clicking index again takes on all the way back to the main forum rather than the specific forum in which one was first reading. Takes quite a few steps and scrolling. Very aggravating!
The site seems to be a lot faster though, with the exception that when I click on someone's attachment and hit the back button, the page doesn't reload unless I hit the refresh button.
Thanks for the continued free use of Tractorbynet, and Happy New Year!

I too have noticed the index link not bringing you back to the topics page. You end up having to go all the way back to the main index.
Anyway, site does seem to be a lot faster. I used to do this type of work and it always seems a few details fall through the cracks. We used to always say a network was perfect until you turned users loose on it. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Thanks to y'all for all the work you do on this site so we can swap info, experieces and lies. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Since the upgrade, when I click on a topic, instead of going to the first new post, it opens up to the first post on page one of the topic. I'm sure there is a simply fix to this, but I am unable to figure this out. Any suggestions? BTW, when I click on the Forum Topic (e.g. "Projects") the Threads with new posts are highlighted as they used to be along with the number of new posts in parentheses. I just don't get to the new posts like I used to.

It still works the same as in the past for me. When I click on a thread, it goes to the first new post in that thread. And of course why it would for some and not for others is behind my understanding of computers.

It worked that way in one forum the very first time today Bird, but then the rest worked just fine. Now that I have have refreshed the page, they all work like they should.

Well, it works if the thread fits on one page. If it spands multiple pages, then it still takes you to the first page.

Ibrahim,

When I went to a members profile and tried to view all his posts, this is the message that came up:

I tried a couple of different members, and it was the same for all of them.

The View All Posts is linked in with the Search. I still haven't fixed that. I was resting on Sunday. I'll get it back up to speed today.

The rest of the bugs I'll check into also.
