I have had my 1700 for 24 years and have about 1200 hours on it. It has the original loader on it. Last year my right front wheel sheared off and all the tractor places that I called came down to buying the upgrade to replace was 2800.00 even if I could find it used it would be more than half that so I found a running 1700 in ohio ,paid 3000.00 for it and trailered it home. Early this year the same part on the left broke. I had been hoping to find the right front part=not being in a hurry so I would have 2 excellant running 1700 tractors but alas ,it is not to be unless I found a Junked 3rd 1700. I did not know about the oil in fuel pump either and have never changed hdy oil in trans-the mechs I have asked have always told me leave it alone unless it looks bad. I use the loader and a 5 foot brush hog and 6 foot erskine pull behind snowthrower and have only replaced one 10 inch hydralic hose on the loader. I wish I had found this website earlier.
