I have a Scott's (made by John Deere) and I let it sit too long with gas so had a challenge to start. It would run briefly and quickl so figured it was a fuel issue.
It has a Koehler 16HP engine. I took the carb apart and it was extremely clean but did try to clean passages with carb cleaner. After the rebuild, itt finally started running but I am having a fuel delivery issue.
What I notice is the gas filter is empty so again a fuel issue. I remove the hose between the filter and tank and then gas will fill the filter. This works but what I do not see is any significant flow when it is running.
I am trying to under why it is not pulling fuel and then open the line and it flows. There is some siphon effect that does not seem to be working since the carb is pulling in the gas (meaning the float is working) until it is empty but no gas in come down from the tank.
