Hello All,
After researching and reading many posts I bought a DK 45S last weekend! Got it with FEL and a couple of implements incl. brush cutter, post hole digger, forks, disc, etc.
Oh, what fun it was to drive through the overgrown field and cut everything to pieces. Really a nice machine and the guys down at West End Tractor in Vale, NC were great. Knowledgeable, not pushy and a fair price for the new one and my old trade-in.
I even managed to get the owner to include a modified seat at no charge. He had a 3" tall steel frame fabricated, then mounted it under to seat to raise it and at the same time move it further back (the toolbox had to go). No I am comfortable, just couldn't fit otherwise.
Thanks to everybody for the many posts - this forum is really a goldmine of information.
Happy tractoring,
BigGuy

I think it's said (meant) as a figure of speech.

I'm sure something got scratched. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the pack! Hope you get many years of hard work out of it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for the welcoming posts!
Scratched the hood a little bit, but that's what it's made for.
Great machine, well built.
(By the way, I am 6'7" and 350 lbs. - this might explain the modifications.)

6'7" huh? I wonder how you came up with your member name then? LOL
Congrats on your great purchase. I love that model, and it sure is a strong puller.
It's good that you got the first scratch out of the way, now you can just USE it as it's meant to be.

Welcome,
That is a nice machine I have taken one out twice for a test ride but I am 6'3" and 300lbs and I found it cramped also. I probaly would have bought it by now if the seat went back further.
I know you are busy getting seat time but I would love some pictures of the seat mod when you have time. It might be all I need to pull the trigger! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Congrats on the new machine.

My first time out I bounced a log off the hood and scratched the side. I came home and armored up after that, I have to work harder now to do any damage.
