This may be dumb question. But why would you balance a tractor tire? Unless someone added some weird tractor tire weights to only one sector of a rim. I just don't see the need. They don't spin fast enough.

Maybe he ment to say ballast. That would make scence.

Back in 60's and 70's some farmers used powered lead for balast in tires (before EPA). If you were roading tractor an hit a pot hole or dumped the clutch at high RPM the lead would shift and you had a clown tractor un till you found another pot hole to shake it up and get it resetlled.
Found gloves and tire gauge and walet at different times when i worked on trucks and ran a station with my Dad.

i've seen lead shotgun shot put in a tire.. and after a few years use much of it was powder.. :)

no rust on the rim though!

There has been no mention of this being a tractor tire, so my response covered automobile and truck tires also.

Welcome to TBN, glad we could be of assistance...and just FYI, I was removing a lawn tractor tire from the rim a few days ago, had to rush off after I got one bead off the rim, and when I went back to finish the job, I could only find one tire lever...anybody got a guess where the other one was? Yeah, your thread showed up at the PERFECT time.

If nothing else, the screwdriver unbalances the wheel/tire. I would remove it and rebalance the tire.
yeah because he will be doing 50 down the highway with the tractor. Whats next, "I was only kidding about balancing the tire"?
