and corn ethanol.. what a crock.
gee.. lets make a fuel out of something that is a staple in animal and human food chains. and use alot of energy to do it.
why not use sugar cane pressings.. a semi-waste product.. or heck.. switch grass.. a virtual WEED... good biomass for ethanol... but corn?? please..
lets see.. less btu.. makes gas junky anyway.. and price?

The problem (at least in this country) with distilling corn liquor to alcohol for ethanol is that American farmers only harvest the ear, strip the kernel and sell that. The bulk of the sugar is in the stem and leaves, not the kernel.
In Europe, the entire plant is harvested, chopped and processed. American farmers aren't set up for that (for the most part).
Switchgrass makes better alcohol for sure.
E plants can't exist without gummit subsidies. It's a crock that taxpayers support without choice.
