I am in the process of changing every filter and fluid on my TN70A. One of these filters is the PowerShuttle filter. I got a new filter from www.messicks.com. Then read my owner’s manual and it talks about making sure the seal is oiled. But the new filter does not have a seal. I don't want to remove the filter and discover that I need a seal. I am in no hurry to change the filter. I want to make sure I do nit right. Not having a required seal would be a bad thing.

There is an o-ring on the canister housing. No, the filter does not come with a new o-ring. I have changed dozens of PowerShuttle filters and never needed a new seal. Your results may vary. Should you have one on hand? If I tell you not to bother, you will rip the old one in two before you even get to see it. If you buy a new one, you won't need it.

Give er' a shot Bob! If the O-ring does get destroyed take it along with you to a local bearing distributer. They can easily match it up and put you back in business, not to worry.

PS I'm still in need of that NH dealers name & phone number that you mentioned before vacation.

Sorry for the delay. I just tracked down the receipt. I paid 34.95 per 5 gallons of Hydro (not 33.00 as I first thought).

Thanks, I just had to rip a seal, then have to stop what I am doing, drive to the dealer, find out they have to order the part, drive home, then drive back, then drive home, then find out it is the wrong O ring, drive back, order another one, drive back, and so on.

I will change it without fear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will chnage the filter wiht no extra O ring on hand.

I did it with no problems! There is a small o-ring on the canister. Running fine x 2 hrs. Thanks for the help.
