SEARCH AND DESTROY WITH FEL

I got my tractor back on Friday after having a FEL installed. I started mowing and within the first 5 mins I wiped out a 8' tall pine. That FEL really makes for a whole new operation. So far in two days I've hit 1 tree, 3 fence posts ( 1 was the neighbors ) and almost the barn. Gotta run, the suns shinning and I have work to do, (the wife says play ) whatever....the 3010 is a great machine....

The good news is, it's just something you develop a "feel" for. Your tractor is suddenly several feet longer than it used to be, so you gotta learn how to parallel park it all over again.

I've noticed that I tend to pay less attention to the fel and where it is when I have a mower on the back. That's how I bent the heck out of the corner of our kennel once.

My problem is at the other end of the tractor. When I have the FEL on, I usually use the RFM for counterweight if I'm doing anything heavy. For light work, the tire ballast works. So far I didn't hit anything important with the RFM, but it's probably a matter of time.

My tractor has a 302FEL, and it's so easy to mount / remove, that it comes off when I'm not using it. Hate to drag the weight and extra length around. I've been keeping the tractor and loader in the garage, and have the 2 pins where I can reach them from the seat of the tractor. If I want the loader on, I can drive in and hook up without leaving the seat. Back out of the garage, flip the stands up and go to work................chim
