\"SEARS\" Oil and Fluids...???

Has anyone ever used Oil or Trans/Hydro fluids for their tractor (or other machinery) that is the "Sears" brand?

Do you know who produces it? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Just found out I can get it for free (family businesses pay for it /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif) but I am hesitant to try/use it if there are any doubts of its quality. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Not worth jeopardizing my tractor just because it's free. Thanks to all.

I'd say Quaker State/Penzoil makes it from the shape of the container and the size of QS/PZ.

I've never had any problems with either brand.
I've probably used Penzoil the most.
Rotella only in my tractor, though.
Quicksilver was the only kind I used in my boats.

Look for the SAE certs. If the oils are certified to the same required for your tractor (in owners manual) you will be fine. My guess is the Sears oil is certified for gas motors, you need deisel certs.

Sears Oils may be unique.

But try as I might the location of the Sears Oil refinery remains a mystery.

Would it be possible Sears has its oil packaged by one of the refineries which are few in number????
