Same with my JD 4105. It's never bothered me and, like the OP, I'm on & off + work alone.
Occasionally I will miss putting it into exactly neutral and the safety switch will remind me that all isn't right.
It just takes one instance of inattention and none of us are perfect so, I'd recommend not cheating the switch... but it's your tractor, Mate.
I have the same recommendation. Last year I was bush hogging and ran over a yellow jacket nest and had to abandon ship. Didn't even take time to cut the tractor off! Fortunately the safety switch cut it off for me otherwise it would have probably have gotten stuck down in the creek.
With my tractor though, if it's in neutral and the PTO is disengaged, I can get off and it doesn't cut off by itself, so I'm fine with the way my switches are set up.
