Yep.. cool anti-feature...

i think the term your looking for is "disabled-safty-device"

i dont know if im keen on not having a dissconnect on the clutch side. when I was mowing last week i happen to run up on some stuff i didnt want to mow through and out of instinct i stomped the clutch peddle which worked nicely to shut the deck off and bring me to a quick stop.

I don't like the fact that you can't brake steer while in cruise onthe models mentioned...

I like clutch safety switches.. or at least.. am not bothered by them.

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick FYI. My 2002 DX33 does in fact have a seat safety switch, which I am soon to bypass. (My 105# better half has a very hard time activating the switch to keep the engine running) Also, my brother has an 01 TC25 and it does NOT have a seat safety switch.

Just a little FYI,

Don't disconnect it! Your seat switch is working perfectly to keep your wife off the tractor.:D :D

Good one. You might even be able to tell her " Well dear.. maybee it just doesn't like you.. see.. it likes me fine!!"

If you can pull that off with a straight face.. you have got it made!

My neighbor bought a TC29DA in 2005. It does have the seat switch. He noticed that I got off the tractor once with the MMM running, and later asked how I disarmed the seat switch.

Guess I'll add my two cents.
Some tractors don't have a seat switch. My Mahindra 2615HST does not. If yours does it may have been jumped out. My tractor won't start in gear. I don't have to push the clutch to start since it will only start when the L/M/H speed selector in neutral position and make sure PTO levers are in off position then turn the key. Once running I get off by dropping the bucket and setting the brake.

Underneath the TC33DA HST tractor, on the left side of the transmission housing, there are two wiring boots that are part of the safety start system. They are within a few inches of each other, with one slightly above the other. Each has two wires leading to it. I assume they lead to switches inside the housing.

I further assume one has to do with detecting that the transmission is in neutral, and the other detects whether or not the PTO is engaged. Is this correct? Does anyone know which is which?

I suspect the lower of the two is the transmission neutral switch. An easy way to check is to jumper one of them with alligator clips and then see which you've just jumpered. If it starts in any range, it's the tranny, if it starts with the PTO engaged, its the PTO. Another easy way to check with an ohmeter is to measure continuity through the switch contacts with either the transmission or PTO disengaged. This is done a lot easier with two people: One holding the meter/leads and the other operating levers.

Of course, the easiest way is to have someone who actually knows tell you which is which. I'm no help with that whatsoever.

Essentially, the lever connects to a shaft that enters the casting on the right side of your tractor. Where it enters, there is a castellated nut with a cotter key installed

ya so i hate to be a pest... but I cant find any mention of this in previous posts (but as you say... could have been lost in some forum upgrade)

i poked around in the area i thought was but could find no part that fit your discription that seemed to have anything to do with the 3pt controls.

Also spent time looking for some sort of 3pt-speed-lower-control lever thingie in roughly the same area to control the desecent of the 3pt (with heavy impliments)
